Dr. Steiber has been in healthcare marketing research for more than two decades serving major pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers in both domestic and global initiatives. He also has deep background working with start-ups and niche companies in pharmaceutical, biologic, medical device and gene therapy launches. He has extensive background in both 7 qualitative and quantitative methods. Dr. Steiber's experience in qualitative work has been focused on new product development, concept and message testing, as well as market landscape and positioning. His research ranges from pre-clinical market assessments to post-patent protection strategies for branded agents. Dr. Steiber has served in a variety of senior research positions, having held leadership posts with Axxiom Health Care, GfK, NOP World, ORC International, and The Gallup Organization.
Dr. Steiber is fluent in the following qualitative methods: IDIs, tele-depth interviews, dyads, triads, conventional focus groups and war-gaming facilitation. He has directed a rage of research services, ranging from basic methodologies such as message recall and ATUs, to more sophisticated efforts involving market-sizing, positioning, choice-based modeling and message/objection-handler development. He has conducted research targeted at KOLS, physicians, patients, pharmacists, nurses, and a wide range of health, engineering and managed care executives.
Having worked in virtually every therapeutic class, Dr. Steiber has in-depth experience in neurology, oncology, cardiology, analgesics and anti-inflammatories, anti-infectives, dermatology, urology, rheumatology, gastroenterology, endocrinology, nephrology and ophthalmology.
Dr. Steiber’s research has withstood the critical review of the Food and Drug Administration, as well as numerous refereed journals, The Journal of the American Medical Association, Public Opinion Quarterly, Social Forces and The American Journal of Public Health, among others. He has also co-authored a book, “Measuring and Managing Patient Satisfaction”.
He began his career as a Senior Research Associate with the Center for Health Policy Research of the American Medical Association. Dr. Steiber earned his Ph. D. from the University of Arizona. He also holds an M.A. from Wichita State University and a B.A. from Augustana College.
