Mr. Gillung has over 32 years of pharmacy project management and operational experience across hospital, homecare, long term care and retail pharmacy. Mr. Gillung’s experience includes several Fortune 500 companies such as McKesson, Baxter, Cardinal Health and Premier Inc (a leading Group Purchasing Organization).

Mr. Gillung started his pharmacy career in a small-town retail pharmacy owned by his family. After graduating from pharmacy school, Mr. Gillung began a career in hospital pharmacy, where he served as a staff pharmacist, clinical pharmacist and a director of pharmacy services. As a practicing pharmacist, Mr. Gillung also gained valuable experience in homecare and purchasing with Caremark. In the late 1990’s Mr. Gillung’s career changed course when he began to do project management, sales administration, and eventually sales with McKesson and then Cardinal Health and finally consulting with Navigant Consulting, Premier and Principle Pharmacy Group.

While at McKesson, Mr. Gillung served as National Director of Sales for alternate sites, including retail, homecare, and long term care pharmacy. During his times at McKesson and Premier respectively, Mr. Gillung developed several internal and customer database solutions utilizing T-SQL, Microsoft Access and Excel. Other projects he supervised included hospital and retail pharmacy buildouts, hospital pharmacy remodels and USP 797 compliant cleanroom redesign and remodel.

Mr. Gillung obtained his Bachelors of Science in Pharmacy from the University of Pittsburgh, is a member of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) and recently completed a certification in SQL Database Management.
